MCoB Research Technologies group has developed a SAS interface program to extract NASTRAQ data. This SAS-NASTRAQ program not only possesses all the important features of NASTRAQ interface, but also incorporates additional useful features, such as variable selection and output sorting. More importantly, the SAS-NASTRAQ program is capable of generating output files up to about 20GB compared to about 2GB limitation of the NASTRAQ interface.

 

 

Instructions to Install SAS_NASTRAQ Interface

 

PREREQUISITES:  (1) YOU MUST HAVE A USER ACCOUNT ON THE RESEARCH DATABASE SERVER BEFORE RUNNING THE INSTALLATION. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT, PLEASE CONTACT THE MCoB IT RESEARCH GROUP AT 1-9089. (2) YOU MUST BE RUNNING NT@CB OR CB2000 ON YOUR OFFICE PC.

                       

Starting Installation:

1.        Click on Start Menu, Open \Academic Technologies\;

2.        Then, double click on the “Install SAS_Nastraq Interface” icon

 

The installation procedure creates \CB_Programs\nastraq\ on your local hard drive D (or C: for laptop users) and U:\AFSid\nastraq\ on the research database server.

 

On your local hard drive D:\CB_Programs\nastraq\ (or C:\CB_Programs\nastraq\ for laptop) subdirectory contains: 

 

·        userparms.sas                               the main SAS-NASTRAQ Interface program

·        ReadmeUserparms.doc                 the instructions on how to use the SAS program

·        Installation.doc                              installation instructions for the SAS-NASTRAQ Interface

 

U:\AFSid\nastraq\ subdirectory contains:

 

• ticklist.txt                                          the sample ticker list
