Corel decided to abandon a Mac version of Wordperfect in 2000. And because there is no compatibility between Wordperfect and MS Word, Mac users are left without a way to access .wpd files made with newer PC versions of Wordperfect. If you have older .wpd files made with a since outdated version of Wordperfect, you can try to open these files with the latest mac version of Wordperfect available from the MCOB IT office. While this version does not run natively in OSX, it will run in classic mode. The only way to read .wpd documents made in the last few years is to open them on a PC. You can also request the source of these .wpd files to be saved in a compatible format like Rich Text Format (.rtf) and then open them in MS Word on your Mac.
