About the Backups
The M and N drive store backups that you can access directly to restore files that you may have changed or deleted accidentally or that have become corrupt.

The M drive backups are on the following schedule:

  • Hourly backups for the last 4 hours
  • Daily backups for the last 7 days
  • Weekly backups for the last 4 weeks

The N drive backups are on the following schedule:

  • Daily backups for the last 8 days

How to Restore Files

  1. Open up "My Computer"
  2. Double Click on your N or M drive
  3. In the Address bar type M:\~snapshot  (or N:\~snapshot)

  4. This will give you a list a folders. "hourly.0" is the latest backup taken within the last hour, "hourly.1" is the backup taken an hour before the last and so on. This is the same for the nightly backups ("nightly.0" was taken last night) and the weekly backups as well. NOTE: On the N drive these are called "sv_nightly.0"
  5. When you open one of these backup folders you will see a complete copy of the M drive.  Navigate to the file(s) you want to restore and simply copy over the files that you need.

If you need files that are older than 1 month on M drive or older than 8 days on the N drive contact the Mendoza IT helpdesk at 1-7896.
