Upgrade Eligibility and Machine Ownership                            Back to Main

Please review the information below to determine if you are eligible for a new machine.  If you are not eligible, you will not receive a new machine; however, we will upgrade necessary software to maintain compatibility on your current machine.

    Upgrade Eligibility

  1. To be eligible to receive a CWP system, an employee must meet the following Human Resources criteria:

    General criteria include:
    • Full Time
    • Primary Position Only
    • Some persons/departments are not eligible for CWP resources due to their funding model.
    Regular faculty criteria:
    • University Officers
    • Anyone with an HR Appointment Type of AA (Academic Administrator), FA (Faculty), or LF (Library Faculty) and who is not Emeritus, Adjunct, Concurrent, Visiting, or Guest.
    Staff criteria:
    • Staff/Administration are considered anyone with an HR Appointment Type of AD (Administration), GN (General), LB (Library), OC (Office Clerical), TN (Technical).
  2. If you have used your allocated College Workstation Program (CWP) funds within the last 4 years, you are not eligible for a new machine.
  3. Each eligible employee may only have one CWP funded system during each upgrade cycle.

    Machine Ownership

  1. Costs of enhancements or upgrades to the base CWP machine will be the responsibility of the user making the request.
    • Please note: The University retains ownership of the entire machine, including all enhancements and upgrades.
  2. CWP systems are for on campus use (laptops being the only exception).
  3. If a faculty or staff member leaves the University, any computer equipment purchased using CWP or institutional funds (including DFA) remains the property of the University and MUST be returned to Mendoza IT.
  4. If a faculty or staff member takes another position on campus, any computer equipment purchased using CWP or institutional funds (including DFA) MUST be returned to Mendoza IT.
  5. When you receive your new CWP machine, your old CWP machine will be reclaimed and reallocated.
