Whenever I send an e-mail I get multiple e-mail addresses for the same person. How can I ensure that I choose the correct address and get rid of the others?
This type of behavoir in Outlook occurs because it has stored or remembered all e-mail addresses used for that particular individual. To get rid of the un-used addresses and leave the correct one for use, please follow the instructions below.
- Open Outlook
- Now create or send a new e-mail message
- When you type in the name into the "To..." field Outlook will try to auto-complete the name for you and add the asociated e-mail address.
- While Outlook is auto-completing the name of the person you are sending the e-mail to. Press the arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight the name with the incorrect e-mail address you would like to get rid of.
- With the name highlighted press the “Delete” key and now it won’t reappear when sending future e-mails to that individual.
